A Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi state has granted an interim injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from receiving or acting on the recall petition of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central – PDP).
Justice Isah Dashen granted the motion exparte brought before the court on Thursday by Anebe Jacob Ogirima against INEC.
The plaintiffs through their counsel, Smart Nwachinemere claimed the said petition contains fictitious signatures and names of Kogi Central constituents.
Justice Dashen also granted that “the enrolled order be served on the defendant pending the determination of the substantive suit.”
He adjourned the case to May 6th, 2025 for report of service and further mention.
