The Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, on Thursday held her first matriculation ceremony since the institution was established by the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration.
The ceremony had 245 students drawn from the Faculty of Science and Computing, and Faculty of Informatics administered the oath of Matriculation.
Governor Yahaya Bello, who witnessed the matriculation exercise, also performed the ground breaking of Phase 1 campus development of the school.
The university was established in 2020 following a bill passed by the State House of Assembly and signed by the Governor.
Following the passage of the bill, the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted approval for the establishment of the university.
Later in December, 2020, the State Government appointed management staff of the school, with Professor Salawu Sadiku emerging the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the school.
In a recent development, the school boasts of a teaching hospital as the government has upgraded the Referral Hospital in Okene to serve the need of the School of Medicine.
The State Commissioner of Works and Housing, Engr Abubakar Ohere disclosed this on Wednesday while on the spot assessment of the ongoing construction works at the State Referral Hospital, Okene.
Engr Ohere said that as a result of the upgrading, the December date of full completion of the Referral Hospital may not be achievable.
