APC Primary: Olamaboro Assembly Aspirant, Dr. Ahmed Attah Escapes Gunmen Attack, Accuses Incumbent

Ahead of the House of Assembly primary election of the All Progressives Congress scheduled for later today, an aspirant jostling for the party’s ticket in Olamaboro constituency, Dr. Ahmed Attah escaped gunmen attack in his country home earlier.

Attah, a Medical Doctor, in a statement following the attack, accused the incumbent House of Assembly member representing the Constituency, Bobby Ujah of sponsoring the gunmen.

He said: “I stand here to confirm that I have been attacked in the early hours of this morning by gunmen shooting sporadically and firing at my bedroom using automatic weapons. I want to confirm that this attack was sponsored by cult members sent by the incumbent member representing Olamaboro constituency, Honourable Bobby Ujah.

“I also condemn completely, this use of violence, this use of criminals to intimidate and to attack. What we have been fighting for is injustice and bad governance. Injustice in the area of distribution of political offices. Ogugu ward 3 currently has a Deputy Governor, has the state party secretary and also House of Assembly member, and Ogugu Ward 2 is left with no political office. So we’re fighting against injustice and we will not stop fighting against injustice. All these attempts to intimidate and stop us from saying the truth will not work.

“It is an evidence of failure on the part of the incumbent Member representing Olamaboro constituency and also all the supporters and followers for this use of force against the people, the same people that voted him in. But we believe that God is more than them, and victory shall be ours today in Jesus mighty name.”
