The Chief of Fulani in Kwali Area Council of Abuja, Alhaji Garba Usman Ardo, says he has relocated his family from the FCT to Kogi State after they were set free by their kidnappers.
City & Crime reported how kidnappers had on July 25, 2022 invaded the Fulani chief’s house at Anguwar Tudun Fulani settlement in Yangoji, and abducted his wife, Mrs Habiba Adamu and his three children, Hafsat, Fatima and Abubakar.
The kidnappers had after three weeks, placed a call to the family demanding for an additional N2 million before the victims would be set free after N5 million was said to have been paid to them earlier.
Ardo, who spoke over the phone with our reporter on Sunday, said he had to source for the additional N2 million before his family members were set free last Wednesday by their kidnappers.
He said his family members were held hostage for over five weeks at a kidnappers den amid adverse conditions, a situation which, he added, caused him to relocate them to Kogi State.
“In fact, this is the third time that gunmen are attacking my family while I am away in Kogi State. The vigilante and hunters had to go and rescue my wife after one of the attacks. But the bandits came back for the third time,” he said.
The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not reply to text message sent her about the development.
