The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for primary elections across newly restored state constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, alongside vacant seats in other parts of the country.
This follows the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restore four State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, fixing August 21 to 25, 2026, for party primaries.
In a statement signed by Mohammed Haruna, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, the electoral body noted that the restoration aligns with court judgments directing the action in both states.
The primary window also aligns with scheduled bye-elections into vacant legislative seats fixed for September 19, 2026.
According to the APC statement issued on Wednesday, the primary elections will hold in the following constituencies:
Delta State: Abraka, Isoko North II, Ughelli South II, and Udu State Constituencies
Kogi State: Yagba West II State Constituency
Gombe State: Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency
Bauchi State: Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies
Kano State: Dawakin Kudu State Constituency
