Kogi Varsity Expels Two Students over Lesbianism

Two students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Osara, in Kogi State, have been expelled over alleged involvement in lesbianism.

The students, Ezekiel Precious Omeneke and Aku Joy Chinyere were in 200 level and studying Economics and Accounting respectively before their expulsion.

According to the Information and Public Relations Unit of the institution, the Senate of CUSTECH took the decision at its 30th Regular Meeting following conclusion of investigations by the Student’s Disciplinary Committee.

In a related development, the Management also expelled two other 200 level students for offences bordering on physical assault, stabbing, and cloning of students’ pictures.

Musa Abdulhakeem Onimisi studying Petroleum and Gas Engineering (200 level) was expelled for stabbing another student.

Dominion Kolade studying Physiotherapy (200 level) was also expelled for cloning pictures of two female students.

For the offence of physical assault, Agbaraku Kosikochukwu was rusticated for one academic session.

The Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, in separate letters addressed to the affected students, stated that the Senate’s decision takes immediate effect.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, commended the Students’ Disciplinary Committee for what he described as a thorough and diligent job.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the University remains committed to training students in both character and learning, stressing that the Management will not compromise on discipline and adherence to the institution’s rules and regulations.
