774 Local Government Chairmen Meet in Kogi to Discuss Autonomy

The 774 elected Chairmen of local governments in Nigeria under the aegis of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON have commenced a national meeting in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.

The meeting scheduled for two days, will deliberate on administrative bottlenecks and political issues affecting local government administration in Nigeria.

National President of the Association, Kolade Alabi David is leading the executives of the Association to the meeting now in progress.

ALGON Head, public relations and protocols, Mr. Okafor Venatus, says a communique on the deliberations at the meeting will be issued to the media after the deliberations on matters of political interest to the group.

The implementation of the local government autonomy Act signed by President Muhammadu Buhari, and sundry issues especially the local government autonomy in Nigeria is expected to top the agenda of the two-day ALGON-NEC meeting in Lokoja.
