2023: Support Power Rotation to Kogi West, Group Appeals to Gov Bello

A sociopolitical organization named Kogi West Agenda has appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to emulate other states in the North Central and support power rotation to Kogi West Senatorial district in the next gubernatorial election in the state.

The group in a text of Press Conference address shared on Thursday, noted that the district has not produced Governor of the state since democratic rule despite having the potentials capable of managing the resources of the state.

“The mutual adoption of power rotation in our dear confluence state under the watch of our amiable, focussed and pragmatic Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello will be unique, outstanding, novel and thus a positive re- enactment of the political history and evolution of the state. His Excellency name shall be boldly written in gold. It is our collective call for a United Kogi state and bequeathing an enduring political legacy to the people of the state.

“On the whole, the Kogi West Agenda is determined, firmly, genuinely and formidably behind the Nationwide Clarion call on Governor Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello to run for the presidency of federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023. We join other numerous interest groups to endorse the aspiration of our own, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for President in 2023.

“To this extent, we use this medium to solicit the support of all and sundry in the state and the nation at large for the realisation of this patriotic and progressive move.

“Recall that before 2019 election when the Okun people in Kogi West paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello demanding for Kogi West to produce the next Governor come 2023, interestingly the then Chief of Staff, Chief Edward Onoja, now the Deputy Govenor who represented the governor said the result of the 2019 Governorship election will determine the zone that will produce the next governor in 2023.

“At the end of the 2019 election, the result showed clearly that Kogi West voted overwhelmingly for the All Progressives Congress, APC,” they said.
