Yahaya Bello Dethrones Three 1st Class Monarchs in Kogi, Suspends One Other

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Monday deposed three traditional rulers for gross misconduct of various forms, though unspecified.

The deposed rulers are the Ohimege Igu of Kotonkarfe, HRH Abdulrazaq Isah Koto; the Olu Magongo, Sambola Ojoaha; and the Obobanyi of Emani, HRH Samuel Onimisi.

All the affected Kings have been deposed to Niger states.

Bello said they “committed gross misconduct in various forms, and having followed through our traditional and chieftain laws, rules and regulations, and all the due processes,” which informed the decision of the government.

The government also announced the indefinite suspension of the Onu-Ife in Omala Local Government, HRH Boniface Musa.
