The Ward Councillor representing Iyamoye/Igbopin/Oke Aluju ward in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Raimi Rilwan has constructed a N1.9m bridge in Iyamoye, his community.
The bridge was commissioned on Sunday by the Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Taufiq Isa.
Speaking at the commissioning of the project, Rilwan said he conceived and executed the project to help his people who are mostly farmers, easily transport their goods to the market and improve their socioeconomic lives.
For Rilwan, the project was a fulfilment of parts of the promises he made to the people of his ward whom he represents.
The Chairman of the Local Government commended the initiative and the Councilor for making the people proud.
The Council Chairman charged the users of the project to make the most of it and ensure strict maintenance.
Other dignitaries at the event who took turns in commending the project included, the Obaro of Iyamoye, HRM. Oba Momoh Ibrahim, the President of Iyamoye Development Union, M.K Akintola and the Obadofin of Iyamoye, amongst other indigenes.
