The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Suleiman Abdulrazaq as the winner of Okene I state constituency at the Saturday’s polls.
Abdulrazaq is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and will be representing the constituency at the State House of Assembly.
The winner emerged after polling the highest number of votes, defeating nine other contenders in the election.
He polled 16,430 votes, far ahead of the first runner-up and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Suberu Azamare Yakubu who polled 4,169 votes.
The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Isah Omeiza came third with 927 votes.
Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Dr. Osuola Uzoma declared “that Suleiman Abdulrazaq of APC having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
Meanwhile, the APC at the time of filing this report, won over 20 of the 25 House of Assembly seats in the state.
