The Convener of the group, Zacchaeus Dare Michael, said federal roads in Kogi State were in a dilapidated state and needs urgent attention.

Earlier this year when Kogi Senators met with Fashola on the state of Kogi roads

DAILY POST recalls that the sum of N621.2bn was approved by the Federal Executive Council which the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation will use for the reconstruction of 21 federal roads in the country.

Speaking with Newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, Dare said Kogi is a gateway state and borders more than nine states, with a heavy flow of daily traffic from North and South.

He accused the federal government of employing politics in denying the state an opportunity to rehabilitate its roads.

Michael threatened that youths of the state would have no choice but to barricade Federal Roads in the state if the Minister for Works and Housing fails to represent badly affected roads in the state to President Mohammadu Buhari for urgent approval.

Dare Michael listed Kabba — Isanlu to Ilorin road, Kabba-Iyara-Omuo; Okene-Auchi roads as badly damaged roads in the State occasion by the daily passage of heavy-duty vehicles from more than nine states across the country.

He alleged that it was wrong for the State to be excluded from the list of state roads to be fixed by the Federal Government all because Gov. Bello may be running for the Presidency against a candidate from Lagos State where the Vice President and the Minister for Works and Housing comes from.
