Kogi Police Arrest 15 for Kidnapping, Robbery 

Kogi State Police Command has arrested 15 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists and recovered some weapons from them along Kabba-Lokoja Expressway. Commissioner of Police, Mr Akeem Yusuf, said:

“The command has sent strong signal to criminals terrorising the state.

“I have ordered operatives to go after the hoodlums. We had brake through after raiding their hideouts. The police tactical team arrested 10 armed robbery suspects on Kabba-Lokoja Expressway and Lokoja-Abuja Expressway.

“They attempted robbing travellers but were intercepted and arrested.

Some AK-47 rifles, guns, magazines and charms were recovered from them.

“Another set of suspects was arrested in Lokoja. We recovered phones, jewelleries and other items from them. They confessed to the crime.

The tactical team raided their hideouts in the bush. Officers were immediately redeployed to flashpoints in Lokoja.

“I give kudos to my officers for the way they conducted themselves during, before after the last elections. They applied professionalism in carrying out their duties.

“Police had an encounter with a gang of kidnappers who attempted to abduct victims. They came from neighbouring Ekiti State to carry out their evil act. We tamed them. They abandoned their cutlasses, charms and guns.

“Today, Kogi State is peaceful and calm. We want to appreciate members of the public for given us vital information, which enabled us to flush the hoodlums out of the state. The suspects will soon be charged to court.
