Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has applauded the bold investment by the Chief Executive Officer of Inya Amina Hotels and Apartments, Alhaji Abdulrahman Khalifa, describing it as a significant contribution to economic growth, job creation, and youth empowerment in the state.
Governor Ododo gave the commendation on Saturday while serving as special guest at the grand opening ceremony of Inya Amina Hotels and Apartments, in Okene, Kogi State.
The Governor praised the gesture of Alhaji Khalifa for gifting the hospitality establishment to his wife, describing it as a laudable example of enterprise, empowerment, and family support that resonates with the values of his administration.
He noted that the investment stands as a model for how private sector initiatives can complement government efforts to expand the frontier of economic development and uplift communities.
“This venture is a demonstration of faith in the economic potential of Kogi State,” he said.
Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to repositioning the state’s economy through strategic partnerships, infrastructure development, and the creation of a conducive environment for businesses to thrive every where in the state.
He stressed the government’s resolve to remove bureaucratic bottlenecks that hinder investment and to streamline procedures to attract both local and foreign investors.
He therefore emphasized that ongoing initiatives such as the establishment of a 3,000-hectare Special Economic Zone in Ajaokuta in partnership with the People’s Republic of China, the proposed international airport in Zariagi, the construction of an ultra-modern market in Lokoja, and major road infrastructure connecting rural and agricultural hubs are strategic steps to position the state as an investment destination.
The Governor revealed plans to intensify rural electrification to support local industries, while continuing investments in healthcare and education to improve the quality of life for citizens across the state.
On land administration, Governor Ododo cautioned traditional rulers against indiscriminate sale of land and unauthorized issuance of consent documents, warning that those found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
He reiterated his call to Kogi citizens at home and abroad to align with the state’s economic vision by investing in ventures that promote inclusive growth, enterprise development, and community well-being.
