Two victims of kidnap in Kogi State, Ms. Muhammed Sharifa and her mother have been released by their abductors.
The victims regained their freedom after a ransom was paid by the family members, our correspondent learnt.
ebirareporters.com had reported that the victims were on their way to the neighbouring Edo state when their vehicle was attacked and they were whisked away by the gunmen.
The kidnappers, according to a family member of the victims, Aisha Loveth Momoh, had demanded for a sum of N 20M ransom.
It was gathered that upon negotiation, the family was able to beat down the ransom to an undisclosed amount.
While her mother was earlier released on Tuesday, Sharifa was released on Wednesday.
Sharing the good news on Twitter, @naphiisa who had started a campaign crowd fund for the ransom payment, confirmed the release and appreciated the people who made contributions.
“As at yesterday night, Sharifa’s mum was released. And today (November 30th), Sharifa has been released also. With utmost gratitude we appreciate every single contribution you’ve made (time, repost, donations .e.t.c) Only God can reward you,” she tweeted.
She added that Muhammed Sharifa would send a message when she is stable.
