Kogi: Motorists Appeal to FERMA to Repair Ogaminana/Kabba Junction Road

Motorists plying Okene-Lokoja road Monday appealed to the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to urgently repair deteriorating portion of Ogaminana/Kabba junction road in Adavi local government area of Kogi State, Blueprint reports.

One of the elders of the community and patron of the Righteous On-lookers Association, Alhaji Ahmed Adoke, wondered why the portion of the road that required a small bridge cannot be attended to by the federal government.

He stated that if something urgent was not done by government to fill up the deep gully that has formed across the road as a result of persistent heavy downpour, motorists will soon find it hard to pass through the road.

He said that portion of the road has become nightmare to motorists and other road users who felt that something drastic and urgent needed to be done to control the flood that is often experienced on the road anytime there is heavy rainfall.

“It is on record that before Adavi local government council erected an iron bar protector by the side of the road to guard road users, several motorcyclists and pedestrians have been swept away by the flood that flows across the road.

“Last week, the chairman of Adavi Joint Community Development Association, Alhaji Hussein Aliyu, had to mobilise some community members to fill the gully part of the road with stones and hard core before vehicles managed to pass through,” he said.
