Kogi First Lady Rescues Accident Victims along Lokoja-Abuja Road


The First Lady of Kogi State, Rashidat Yahaya Bello on Monday rescued victims of ghastly motor accident along Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The First Lady was enroute Abuja when her convoy met the stranded passengers with various degrees of injuries, Victor Okee shared on Facebook.

He posted:

In a rare show of compassion and love, Her Excellency Mrs Rashida Yahaya Bello the First Lady and wife of the Executive Governor of kogi State, this afternoon rescued stranded victims of a ghastly motor accident along the Lokoja-Abuja Highway.

The victims who sustained various degrees of injuries were conveyed in her Excellency ‘s personal convoy vehicles to the nearest medical facility for immediate treatment as she undertakes to offset their medical bills.

Her Excellency who was on an official trip to Abuja after a condolence visit to the bereaved family of Barrister Tanko Mohammed,the former Administrator Koton-Karfe LGA and current chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commission used the medium to caution motorists and other road users against reckless driving while thanking God that no life was lost at the accident scene.

Recall that Mrs Rashida Bello maintains a consistent culture of stopping her convoy during trips to pay unscheduled visits to aged women in villages along highways and most times to offer sustainable means of livelihood to young girls and women hawking along the highways.
