The Wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo has met with the first batch of beneficiaries of her Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDR-P) from Okene Local Government Area of the State.
Recall that the CBDR-P, which commenced in July 2025, was designed to provide grassroots-centered rehabilitation, psychosocial support, and reintegration for individuals recovering from substance abuse. After three months of intensive therapy and community-based support, all participants tested negative, marking a significant milestone in the program’s impact.
During the interactive session, partners and donors expressed delight at the positive outcomes recorded so far.
The First Lady commended the beneficiaries for their courage, determination, and discipline throughout the rehabilitation process. She urged them to stay committed to their recovery journey, emphasizing that “sobriety is a lifelong commitment.”
In her compassionate gesture, she announced cash support, educational scholarships, job placements, internship opportunities, business grants, and relocation packages for select beneficiaries to enhance their reintegration and economic empowerment.
She further assured that preparations are underway to extend the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program to other Local Government Areas and senatorial districts across Kogi State.
