The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiru Idris has empowered no fewer than 50 youths drawn from Kogi West senatorial district with business grants.
The Commissioner in a statement on Saturday said the initiative which raked N25 million in grants, aligned with the grassroots empowerment vision of the state government.
Idris further stated that the Governor of the state, Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to inclusive economic growth.
“Through the Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris (MAAI) Network for Ododo, a flagship empowerment programme designed to uplift entrepreneurs in the state, we held a one-day intensive training focused on Access to Finance and Business Growth Strategies.
“Following this training, over 50 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) received grant support ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦2 million.
“This effort is part of our broader agenda to strengthen entrepreneurship, support small businesses, and build a more resilient and prosperous economy across the state.
“I sincerely commend his Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for creating an enabling environment where business and innovation can thrive.
“I’m also charging the beneficiaries to utilize their grants wisely, grow your businesses, employ others, and be part of the economic transformation we are building together.
“I was pleased to have my colleagues, Hon. Wemi Jones (Commissioner for Education) and Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu (Commissioner for Commerce), join me at the event. Together, we are building a Kogi where no one is left behind.”
