‘A family gathering’: Kogi Netizens React to Dino Melaye’s Campaign Outing

Reactions have trailed photos coming out of Senator Dino Melaye’s campaign outing in Kogi state, particularly weighing in on his capacity and level of preparedness.

Melaye who is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 11th governorship election, went on his first campaign tour in his senatorial district, Kogi West, since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) opened the doors for campaigns to begin officially.

The former Senator posted pictures of the outing on his Facebook page, and netizens took to his comment section to berate the turnout of people, some likening it to a ‘family meeting.

“Best wishes sir, but you need to work more harder the he crowd has much influence sir,” Mohammed Habeeb said.

Iroka Emeka said, “The gathering is poor for even a local government campaign.”

Simon Zephaniah: “Dino Melaye where r ur fans now, ? What is happening guy pls apologize to wike so he can mobilize people for u bro.”

Meanwhile, Melaye had said that “PDP is going to win the election in Kogi State because we have never had it so bad in the history of Kogi State.

“Our people were impoverished, salaries have not been paid, pensions have not been paid, gratuity has not been paid, the health sector is non-existent, in fact, all the General Hospitals in the state are mere consulting clinics.

“Education has gone moribund, this is what the PDP is coming to ameliorate and palate. I want to assure you that by the grace of God. With the resolutions of this meeting, with the strategy adopted in this meeting, PDP is good to go in Kogi State.

“My charge to Kogi State is that they should not be Intimidated by the APC, by the threat, violence, the humiliation by the APC should not deter them from exercising their Democratic rights. I want to assure you that we will protect our people.”
