The Commissioner for Information and Communications in Kogi state, Kingsley Fanwo has advised global music act, Davido against his planned donation to orphanage homes across Nigeria.

Davido had disclosed in a viral tweet, his pledge of N300m through his foundation to orphanages across the country.

The gesture, Davido said, was his yearly contribution to the nation, promising to publish details of disbursement.

However, the Kogi state government’s spokesperson advised Davido to put the money into a different use.

Fanwo who replied to Davido’s tweet, said, “I will strongly advise you put this into empowering young people to venture into agricultural production and digital skills acquisition.

“It will go a long in contributing to the nation’s efforts at pulling out of our economic challenges. Well done my brother for giving back to the society. Other showbiz stars should emulate your good heart. Cheers OBO.”

Another tweep, Awulu Attah displeased with the Commissioner’s response, said “Lenu e Kingsley? Did you advise Yahaya Bello your lord and personal saviour to do a fraction of this for Kogi youths? You were busy serving as the Evangelist of lies while Yahaya Bello and his nephews cleaned out. Park well abeg, Evangelist of untruth.”
