Kogi Assembly Speaker Sets up 7-man C’ttee on Revenue Accruing to State

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has, on Thursday, set-up a seven man legislative committee to ascertain the total revenue accruing to the state.

The committee, which is under the Chairmanship of Hon Olawumi Jacob from Mopa-muro State Constituency, has Alhaji Muhammed Bello Abdul as the Clerk/Secretary.

Membership of the committee include Hon Akus Lawal of Ankpa I State Constituency as co-chairman, Hon Idrees Aliyu Maikudi representing Kogi (Kotonkarfe) State constituency, Hon Jibrin Abu of Ajaokuta State Constituency, Hon AbdulRazak Suleiman of Okene I State Constituency and Hon Emmanuel Obaro of Yagba East State Constituency.

Speaking on the importance of the committee, the speaker said it was set-up to complete the assignment that commenced under the previous Assembly.

Rt Hon Umar explained that it was imperative to get the correct data on the total revenue that accrued to the state, stressing that this would go a long way in assisting the state to plan and realize its quest for rapid infrastructural and human capital development.

He said the terms of reference of the committee would be communicated to members and directed them to submit the committee’s report in eight weeks.
