The Government of Kogi State on Monday performed the swearing in ceremony for the new President of the state Customary Court of Appeal, Hon Justice Siyaka Momohjimoh Usman.
The ceremony was held at the Government House Lokoja, and presided over by the Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Edward Onoja.
Onoja in his address assured of government’s support and conducive environment for efficient dispensation of justice in the state, urging the new judge to live above board.
Usman took over from Justice John Bayo Olowosegun, who was confirmed a substantive President in 2020.
Ismaila also alleged that Olowosegun never did National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), neither did he have certificate of exception from such Service as required by the law before he began his working life.
The petitioner, who provided some documents to support his claim, said that the aim of Justice Olowosegun was to elongate his retirement time.
