Jibrin Echocho Retains Kogi East Senate 

The Senator representing Kogi East senatorial district, Jibrin Isah Echocho has retained his seat at the red chamber.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Echocho as winner of the election having polled the highest votes, as stated by the Returning Officer, Professor Musa Adeku Ibrahim.

Echocho who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 108,784, defeating his closest rival and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Victor Adoji who polled 81,867.

The Labour Party polled 18880, New Nigeria Peoples Party 4899, and the African Democratic Congress got 1,571 votes.
