Today, one of our industrious, eminent and illustrious sons, the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, will return home after serving out his 8 years tenure in office, as the 4th Executive Governor of Kogi State.
Indeed, it is a beautiful end to a successful expedition in politics for the essential GYB, fondly called the white lion.
The good people of Ebiraland will roll out the drums and engage themselves in a macabre dance of pomp and pageantry in honour of a man who has brought honour, respect and recognition to his people.
Whatever is done today to mark his home coming is quite in order and fittingly deserving.
Here is a man who has transformed his native land to a place of eldorado in all facets of life and indices of development.
His signature of giant strides can be seen in the areas of education, health, infrastructure, rural development and security in Ebiraland.
His 8 years tenure in office gave birth to a number of impactful projects namely, Confluence University of science and technology located in Osara, the reference hospital, Okene, the over 100 beds mother and child hospital, located in Iruvuochinomi,Adavi lga, the ultra modern central mosque Okene, the new gigantic Ohinoyi palace, Okene, the reconstruction of the technical college,Oboroke,Ihima and other numerous township roads that cut across the nooks and crannies of Ebiraland.
It is also noteworthy that GYB have brought honour and recognition to the land at the national level.
It is on record that he is the first Ebira man to take part in a presidential primary in the history of Nigeria politics.
In the area of manpower development, GYB have made countless Ebira sons and daughters millionaires and successful career people, who are presently contributing their quota to nation building in various sectors in the country.
On the whole, Ebira people are very proud of him and his litany of accomplishments in life.
He has done his bit and left a good legacy behind.
Welcome home, the quintessential GYB,a courageous, visionary,ditribalized, exemplary leader and bridge builder par excellence.
