Youths in the central senatorial district of Kogi State have been urged to boycott the Kogi Youth Townhall Meeting scheduled to commence on July 16th in Okehi Local Government Area of the state.
The call came on the heels of the continued incarceration of Abdulhameed Sadiq, a media supporter of the Ahmed Usman Ododo government, arrested and detained on the instructions of the State’s Accountant General, Habiba Onumoko.
According to reports, Sadiq has been remanded by frivolous court order for five months over defamatory remarks he made on Facebook against the Accountant General.
Netizens of the youths extraction find the continued detention for five months without trial as an unfair use of state power to maltreat one of their own.
For them, an injury to one, especially a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, spells doom for all of them.
The health condition of Sadiq, ebirareporters.com gathered, deteriorates by the day with no end in sight, just as calls for his unconditional release have gained momentum on social media.
