Businessman and philanthropist, Distinguished Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene has congratulated Christians on the observance of lent season and celebration of Easter.
Okene in a statement on Friday celebrated the Christian faithfuls in Nigeria, describing the spiritual efforts of the community as part of the important bricks holding Nigeria firmly together.
The President of Khalif Cares Foundation noted that it was not a coincidence that the lent season coincided with Ramadan in 2023, urging Nigerians to remain prayerful for the socioeconomic prosperity of the nation.
“For me, the Christian’s lent season which is a 40-day fasting period, coinciding with the Muslim’s Ramadan fasting, is not mere coincidence. It is a spiritually significant period to first purge ourselves of iniquities, and pray together for ourselves, humanity, Nigeria and the whole world.
“Globally, people are facing hardships, nations are at war, with economic and political instability weighing upon the generality of global peace. Therefore, I do not see a better time to intercede than this significant period.
“Congratulations are in order for our dearly beloved Christian friends, family and supporters. Wishing you all a peaceful and wonderful celebration,” he said.
