Following interface with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and political consultations, Dr. Hope Omeiza has bowed out of the race to contest the Okene/Ogori-Mangogo House of Representatives election.
Dr. Omeiza communicated his decision to step out of the race in a statement on Sunday, citing it as the outcome of heeding to wise counsel.
He wrote, “over the past few months, I have experienced a deeply enlightening and insightful journey as I gave thoughtful consideration to contest for Member, House of Representatives, Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency.
“As we embarked on wide consultations, the overwhelming outpouring of love, trust, admiration, concerns, and even fears was truly unprecedented. This response strongly affirms that our people clearly identify capacity, competence, and leadership.
“While I do not take this trust for granted, in the overall interest of the people we serve and will continue to serve, I have taken the decision to heed wise counsel by allowing this season pass and supporting whoever emerges as the government/party’s candidate. This was, however, not an easy decision.”
The Medical Doctor thanked the Ododo led administration, assured of his support and urged his supporters to remain steadfast and resolute in their shared vision for better representation.
