The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kogi State governorship election, Senator Dino Melaye has called for the cancelation of election results in the central senatorial district of the state.

Senator Melaye in a tweet via his official handle, demanded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the polls, alleging malpractices.

In the same tweet, he accused the INEC of complicity in what he described a scam.

He said, “INEC must cancel the election in the 5 local governments of Kogi Central. The election in Okene, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi and Ogori/Magongo is a scam coordinated from the highest level of INEC.”

Meanwhile, the call came amidst reports of the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo coasting to victory with bloc votes from the central senatorial district.

Ododo is the only governorship candidate from the region.
