Unknown assailants have burnt a traditional chieftain, the Iye Agwuma Ata Igala, Her Royal Highness Memuna Opaluwa Oguche-Ankpa to death at her home in Okete-Ekwe, Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The unfortunate incident which reportedly occurred on Thursday, also claimed the life of a five year-old boy identified as Oneche-ojo who slept in the room.
The nephew of the deceased, Opaluwa Omera shared the news on Facebook.
He wrote:
“I woke up to the terrible news about the demise of my Aunty Her Royal Highness Memuna Opaluwa Oguche-Akpa who is the current Iye Agwuma Ata Igala.
“She was set ablaze by unknown men who visited my family house at Okete-Ekwe, Idah.
“Petrol was poured through her window into her room and they immediately set her ablaze.
“The little Onechojon of 5years who was in the room also burnt to death beyond recognition, another of my relatives who escaped sustained injuries.
“I still can’t come to terms with who my Omeyi has wronged that she has to be killed in this horrible wicked manner alongside an innocent Onechojon, but no one lives forever.
“Omeyi Memuna needed to help me do something, a call through to her about 3 days ago, it was done as we agreed, only to wake up to this sad news.”
