Abductors of Adogu Eganyi Demand N30m Ransom

 

The abductors of the Adogu of Eganyi, Alhaji Mohammed Adembe has reportedly contacted his family, demanding a ransom of N30m before releasing him.

The traditional ruler was kidnapped on Tuesday at about 5:20 pm on the Okene -Eganyi Road, police spokesman, DSP William Aya confirmed the incident to newsmen.

A source close to the family has disclosed that the abductors established contact around 1pm on Wednesday with the monarch’s family and demanded for N30m ransom.

Meanwhile, the police said the Kogi State Command has deployed special squad to trace the abductors.

The abduction of the Monarch came barely three days after a popular Pharmacist, Obajimo Abdulazeez who is the owner of Azico Pharmacy was whisked away by gunmen in Okene.

Governor of the state, Yahaya Bello had on a visit to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao raised alarm that fleeing bandits and terrorists were regrouping in Kogi State.

He appealed to the Nigeria Air Force to establish a base in the state to help combat insecurity.
