Vice President Osinbajo to Commission Fashion Hub in Kogi

Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has been scheduled to commission a state of the art fashion hub on Monday, May 22nd in Okene, Kogi State where the project is sited.

The fashion hub, according to Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), is a shared facility built under the National MSME Clinics Shared Facility Scheme.

 

The Information Officer of the agency, Yemi Balogun in a statement, disclosed that the hub is a partnership between the Government of Kogi State and the Federal Government aimed at fostering collaboration amongst MSME Fashion Designers in Kogi State, as well as providing an enabling environment for the fashion sub sector in the state to grow into serving the international markets.

 

“The world-class facility will as well provide small and medium-sized fashion businesses with access to high-quality equipment, and resources at affordable costs and provide training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs to help them grow and scale their businesses”.

 

The Information Officer noted that the Kogi Fashion Shared Facility is equipped with high quality machines which includes, Four and Two Heads Monogram Machines, Digital and Industrial Suit and Shirt Button Hole Machines, Button Tackers, Coil and Tinko Machines.

 

Others are Industrial Straight, Weaving and Hemming Machines, Industrial Pressers, Steam and Pressing Irons, Over-locking and Basin Machines, Industrial Button Holes Locking Machines Phoenix Machines, Digital Flix & Flock Cutting Machines and 6 Head Screen Printing and Borderless Machines to mention but a few.

Quoting the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), Rekiya Onaivo Sanni who said that the initiative facilitated by her agency is highly transformational.

 

She added that the agency took delivery of 200 world-class manual and fully automated fashion equipment with a capacity to service 350 MSMEs daily and 110,000 yearly.

 

Sanni noted that the Fashion Shared Facility is purposely designed to reduce bottlenecks and provide practical and immediate responses to challenges faced by fashion designers as well as foster collaboration amongst them.

 

 

She urged prospective beneficiaries to see the project as an enterprise-friendly initiative that will promote economic growth and create job opportunities in Kogi.
