Six Dead, 60 Injured in Kogi Auto Crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has confirmed the death of six people who lost their lives in an auto crash involving an articulated vehicle on Tuesday evening in Lokoja, Kogi State.

FRSC Sector Commander in charge of Kogi State, Samuel Oyedeji, who confirmed the level of casualties in the accident to journalists, also disclosed that 60 persons sustained various degrees of injuries in the unfortunate incident.

He attributed the accident to over-speeding and urged motorists to always adhere to road regulations to avoid mishaps on the road.

He mentioned that FRSC officers in collaboration with the police and Civil Defence personnel have rushed the injured to Kogi Specialist Hospital and Federal University Teaching Hospital Lokoja for medical attention.

The Sector Commander said that the corpses of the six dead persons have also been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital.
