The Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation said it received over 10,000 applications for its N300 million Bursary Award 2025.
The foundation’s Central Committee Secretary, Tosin Busuyi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja.
He said the programme was designed to support Kogi State students studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising the welfare of Kogi State students, while ensuring a credible, fair, and transparent selection process for successful applicants.
Mr Busuyi explained that the bursary scheme, covering a year’s tuition, was facilitated through Senator Karimi’s Education Foundation.
He stated, “Each beneficiary will receive N100,000 to support their academic pursuits. A total of 3,000 tertiary students from Kogi State will benefit from the bursary award. Beneficiaries include 1,000 students from Kogi East, 610 from Central, and 1,390 from West senatorial districts.’’
Mr Busuyi stressed that Mr Karimi’s dedication to Kogi State students was reflected in the foundation’s continued effort to provide financial assistance to those in need.
He urged students who had yet to apply to complete their registration before the application deadline on August 31.
The committee also advised students experiencing minor registration issues to resolve them before the closing date.
The 2024 bursary scheme saw Senator Karimi disburse N100 million to 1,000 students.
