There is no gainsaying that the life of public officials in Nigeria is constantly being put under public scrutiny and critical searchlights, particularly through the media, once they seek public office to contribute their quota in nation building.
And this can be put to negative use by certain unscrupulous elements.
One of such high level personality that suffered undeserved negative critism and media misrepresentation under this dispensation is the outgoing governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Ever since providence brought him to limelights in 2016, against all odds,his political enemies never spared any opportunity they have to vilify him and cast him in the mould of a ‘demonic’ leader and total failure in governance, even when the facts points to the contrary.
It took time before the general public came to the understanding that the youthful governor was just a victim of bad press and a target of legions of armedchair critics,who are hellbent in pulling down the visionary and purposeful governor, just to score cheap political points.
As the youthful governor gets set to step down from his tenure in office this weekend,it has become imperative to put it on record that his actions and inactions were badly misunderstood and misrepresented in the public domain.The facts are there as a guide.
It has come to pass that he is one benevolent and exemplary leader that the state is lucky to have in its trajectory of leadership history.
Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, is one leader, whose achievements and legacy projects were grossly underreported by the media.
His signature of giant strides in the thematic areas of his New direction vision, namely,security, infrastructure, health, education, agriculture and rural development cannot be forgotten. These projects.are evenly spread across the three senatorial districts of the state.
For example, his administration gave birth to two new Universities, namely ,Confluence University of science and technology located in Osara,Kogi central and Kogi State University, Kabba, in the headquarters of Kogi west.
As he counts down to the end of his tenure,it is gratifying that most people now see him in his natural being, as a true leader who means well for humanity and the good people of Kogi State.
He is bequeathing a legacy of good governance, inclusiveness of women in strategic and sensitive positions, and a prosperous state that can compare favourably with it’s contemporaries in the country.
Human history has successfully pulled down the veil of hates and media propaganda,woven around the personality of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, by his political enemies.
This is the audacity of true leadership ,symbolized by Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, the pencil in the hand of God.
He came, he saw and conquered.
