Police, British Embassy Partner to Secure Kogi

The Nigeria Police Force and the British Embassy in Nigeria have joined forces to enhance security and combat crime in Kogi State.

The partnership was officially launched on Monday with a strategic meeting between Kogi Commissioner of Police, Mr. Miller Dantawaye, and a British Embassy delegation led by Mr. Andrew Marshall.Discussions centered on intelligence-led operations and counter-kidnapping strategies.

Marshall emphasized the importance of synergy in tackling security threats, highlighting intelligence gathering as a key tool for tracking criminal activities.

Describing crime as a major obstacle to peace and societal progress, he underscored the need for effective collaboration between security agencies and international partners.

In response, Commissioner Dantawaye reaffirmed the police’s commitment to strengthening security measures and acknowledged the significance of global cooperation in combating crime.

He pledged to intensify stop-and-search operations and strategic intelligence sharing while encouraging the British Embassy to provide actionable intelligence to enable swift responses from law enforcement agencies.

Dantawaye described the visit as a significant step toward reinforcing security partnerships and enhancing crime-fighting efforts in the state.

He further stated that collaboration with foreign partners is crucial, given their advanced security capabilities and resources.
