The Acting Chairperson of Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hajia Aliyu Avosuahi Bilikisu on Thursday escaped suspected assassins in Osara, along the Okene-Lokoja expressway.
Hajia Bilikisu was returning to Okene from Lokoja, the state capital, where she attended a security meeting convened by Governor Yahaya Bello, when she came under attack by gunmen.
Speaking with ebirareporters.com, a close aide to the Local Government boss, said that it took the efforts and brave stance of her security officers to foil what he described as a coordinated attack.
The aide confirmed that she escaped by the whiskers, and came out unhurt.
Governor Yahaya Bello had held a security meeting attended by the security Chiefs and local government Chairmen in the state.
The meeting according to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed, was to discuss new approach to security challenges and strengthen intelligence gathering to ensure the state is secured.
