Kogi CP Orders Robust Security Deployment for Easter 

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has ordered a comprehensive and robust security deployment across the State in preparation for the forthcoming Easter celebrations, aimed at ensuring a peaceful and hitch-free festivity.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat in a press release noted that in compliance with this directive, the Command has deployed adequate personnel and logistics to strategic locations, including worship centres, major highways, recreational centres, and motor parks. Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers.

The CP also mandated Tactical Commanders to intensify visibility policing, intelligence gathering, and patrols within their Areas of Responsibility.

He directed the conduct of coordinated operations, including stop-and-search duties and targeted patrols, in synergy with other security agencies to forestall any breach of peace. He also emphasized effective traffic management to ensure smooth vehicular movement across the State throughout the festive period.

The Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and to promptly report any suspicious activities. For emergency response, residents are advised to contact the Command Control Room via 0703 832 9084 and 0815 219 5982.

While wishing Christian faithful a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, he reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property.

He reiterated his dedication to proactive policing, strengthening community partnership, and calls on the public to continue to support the Police in maintaining peace and security across Kogi State.
