The Deputy Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the last Kogi gubernatorial election, Chief Sam Abenemi has announced his decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.
Chief Abenemi who is a former Lokoja Local Government Chairman and also a former Commissioner in the state, was the running mate of Murtala Yakubu Ajaka under the SDP.
ebirareporters.com learnt that all arrangements have been concluded to receive Abenemi, and a former Governor of the state, Captain Idris Wada into the APC in a ceremony scheduled for Monday November 17th, 2025.
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf on Saturday received Chief Abenemi, describing him as a big addition to APC.
He said as one of the many ‘boys’ of the former Chairman, having been tutored by Chief Abenemi, he understands the strength of the new entrant who, on his part, understands the rudiments of both grassroots and conventional approach to electioneering.
In a related development, former Governor, Idris Wada has received his APC membership card at his hometown, Odu Ogboyaga, Odu Ward 1 in Dekina Local Government Area of the state.
