Kogi Residents Cry Out over Spate of Armed Robbery in Lokoja

Residents of Felele town in Lokoja,  have cried out to the Kogi state government and security agencies over increasing spate of armed robbery incidents in the community.

The residents reported that they have continued to sleep under fear for over a month since the incident started unabated.

The Felele town which plays host to a Federal University (FUL) , and the State Polytechnic (KSP), has now become a dreaded town for students sheltering there.

ebirareporters.com gathered that the armed robbers move from areas to areas daily, with the most recent attack in the wee hours of Monday at the neighbourhoods of Motel 5 and Living Faith Church in Felele.

Students who are resident in the area have taken to social media to call the attention of the government to the insecurity.

“The Kogi state government should work on the security of the state and kindly secure students living in Felele and Crusher of lokoja, as felele was raided recently and the major area targeted are Students lodge. I hope the government of the state look into this,” Bashir Tijani tweeted.

 

A Facebook user, Abdulsalam Abdullahi posted in an address to his school, Federal University Lokoja. He said, “a mother does not fold her arms and watch her child battle with life. Your students living in Felele and Crusher areas of the city of Lokoja are currently living in fear. These areas have in recent times recorded alarming rates of robbery and other crimes that are life-threatening to students. The safety and welfare of your students have always been your utmost priority and concern. PLEASE DO SOMETHING as you have always🙏🏼
