The participants of the National Institute for Security Studies – Executive Intelligence Management Course (NISS-EIMC) on Monday, arrived Kogi State on a study tour.
The team arrived to tour strategic institutions and places in the state to appreciate the efforts of government in security and development.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Edward Onoja received the participants who were led by the NISS Federal Deputy Commandant and Leader of the Study Group, Mr. D.E Egbeji at the Banquet Hall of the State Government House.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Chief Onoja commended the NISS-EIMC on its vision to provide security officers and top-level management the requisite skills to contribute positively in the implementation of security policies for national development.
He explained that Kogi State holds a leadership status in areas of security and other critical sectors of the Kogi economy which, according to him, have witnessed positive improvements in policy reforms since the participants last visited the State in 2021.
While wishing them a successful tour, he assured the participants of maximum security and all necessary support to help them achieve their objectives.
Earlier, Mr D.E Egbeji said this year’s theme: “Globalization; Implications for Regional Integration and Sustainable Development in Africa,“ was typical to Kogi State as the microcosm of Nigeria. He described Governor Bello as a friend of the NISS and lauded his leadership strides in the State.
In attendance were the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade; Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon Sunday Faleke; State Security Adviser, Cmdr Jerry Omodara (Rtd), and other government functionaries.
