Kogi Guber: GOC Tasks Soldiers on Professionalism, Discipline

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj. -Gen. Valentine Okoro has urged the personnel of the 12 Brigade to ensure the highest level of professionalism in the upcoming governorship poll in Kogi.

He also urged the officers to exhibit a high level of discipline and courage in the discharge of their duties at all times.

Mr Okoro gave the advice while addressing the personnel of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Chari Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, during a working visit to Kogi.

The Kogi governorship election is slated for November 11.

The 2 Division Nigerian Army comprises Kogi, Kwara, Edo, Ondo State, Osun, Oyo, and Ekiti.

The general said, “As soldiers, you must exhibit a high level of neutrality, professionalism and discipline before, during and after the upcoming governorship election in the state.”
Mr Okoro commended the brigade for its efforts and collaboration with other security agencies in maintaining peace and security in Kogi.

He assured the troops of the total support of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and the leadership of the 2 Division Nigerian Army for effective performance.

The commander of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig.- Gen. Haruna Dasuki, led the GOC around some facilities in the barracks, such as the 12 Brigade MRS (Medical Reception Station) and the brigade guest house.

Mr Dasuki commended the GOC for his visit to the state and for boosting the morale of the troops for optimal performance in the defence of the nation.
