Kogi Govt Moves to Develop Mount Patti, Signs MOU with Company

 

In a move to consider the tourist potentials in Kogi State for development, the state government has on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Golden City Engineering Consultancy Company Limited.

The company is saddled with the designing and funding the development of an International Resort at Mount Patti and associated infrastructure in Lokoja, the state capital.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folashade Arike who signed the MOU on behalf of the government, expressed delight and described the development as bearing huge economic benefits for the state.

“Mount Patti offers pot of treasure that is about to see the light of the day and compete favourably with other tourist destinations in the country capable of greatly improving on the Internally Generated Revenue, ” she said.

She extolled the Governor of the state for making Kogi a safe haven for investments to thrive.

On his part, the Chairman of the company, Mr Emmanuel Isaiah thanked the government for the opportunity, highlighting expected potentials from the project to include hotels, boat cruise, helipad, cable cars and amongst others.
