Kogi CP Warns Criminals to Leave or Meet Waterloo

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi state Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, has warned criminal elements to leave the shore of the state or meet their waterloo.

CP Dantawaye who stated this at the Police headquarters in Lokoja on Friday, while speaking on the security situation in Bunu community of Kabba – Bunu local government area of the state, said “Kogi is no longer safe for any criminal activities to thrive.”

He pointed out that a lot of operational strategies has been put in place since he resumed duty as commissioner on the January 23, 2025.

He noted that the command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the state is safe for the citizens.

CP Dantawaye who expressed confidence of making the state safe for residents, stated that the command through the instruction of the Inspector General of Police Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, has commenced training and retraining of its men to boost their operational efficiency and how best to handle weapons.

“We are putting all strategies in place to ensure that the entire state remain safe for residents and motorists travelling through Kogi to other states.

“To get things right, on the instruction of the IGP we are training our policemen to enhance their efficiency in the security operations.

“Kogi state is not a hiding place for criminals they should leave the shore of Kogi state because it is no longer a safe place for any person with criminal tendency. We will continue to engage them until they meet their Waterloo and there are no traces of them in the state,” the CP said.

Speaking on the security situation in Bunu community, the Commissioner disclosed that the IGP has approved the establishment of a new police station in the community to forestall incessant kidnapping cases and other criminal activities in the area.

“Aside our commitment to ensure that the area is free of any form of crimes, the Governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo had also declared his support for joint security operation in ensuring that the lives and property of the citizens living and doing businesses there are secured.

“Also through the collaboration of the Kabba – Bunu local government council, we are able to deploy local hunters, vigilant groups and we have mounted a permanent check-point along the axis that is from Okebukun down to Kabba town.

“Our proactive measures and the collaboration with other security stakeholders could be the reason the issue of kidnapping is going down gradually in the area and we will not relent on our effort to do more for the people,” he stated.
