The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the central senatorial district of Kogi State, has suspended former Senator Ahmed Ogembe over alleged anti-party activities, gross misconduct and betrayal of trust.
The suspension of Ogembe was conveyed in a letter of suspension through the Zonal Vice-Chairman of the party in the District, Anthony Akuvada Momoh.
The decision which the party hinged on several reports and allegations against the former Senator, became necessary to avert undermining the interest of party in Kogi State.
“It has been reliably established, from credible reports and corroborated accounts, that you convened and directed the PDP leadership in Okene Local Government Area to collapse the PDP structure in Okene into the ADC.
“This act amongst others constitutes a clear violation of the provisions of the PDP Constitution (2017) as amended particularly section 58(1) and 59.
These infractions are weighty, strike at the foundation of party loyalty, and cannot be ignored the leadership of the party. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Party leadership under the PDP constitution and pursuant to the recommendations before us, you, Senator Ahmed Ogembe is hereby suspended from the PEOPLE’S DEMOCRACTIC PARTY (PDP) with immediate effect, pending the conclusion of investigations by the Disciplinary Committee.
“During the period of your suspension, you are barred from:
a. Participating in any PDP meetings, activities or decision-making processes
b. Holding yourself out as a leader or representative of the PDP in any capacity whatsoever, and
c. Interfering with party structures or functions at any level within the State.”
Meanwhile, ebirareporters.com reliably gathered that Senator Ogembe may have collapsed the structure of the party into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the interest of coalition.
