Business mogul and philanthropist, Alh. Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene has expressed his sympathies to the victims of an accident that claimed lives and left many injured in Okunchi, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi state.
The founder of Khalif Cares Foundation who hails from the local government, also commiserated with bereaved families.
He described the accident as unfortunate and ill-fated, a phenomenon which according to him was avoidable.
“Road users, especially articulated vehicle drivers in Nigeria, need not be reminded of the dangers of reckless maneuverings on our roads, destroying lives and rendering others hopeless.
“I am particularly saddened by the enormity of the cost of this fatal accident, and wished it could have been lessened by emergency responses.
“My heartfelt sympathies to the victims and their families, just as I have instructed my team to recommend how much support we can give the injured. May God rest the soul of the dead and give the families fortitude to bear the loss.”
