Barely three days to his wedding ceremony, death has played a cruel one on a young expected couple, as one Abraham Basif from Abejukolo – Ife in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.
ebirareporters.com gathered that the groom died on 20th December after an unexpected illness that defied solutions, at the peak of their wedding preparations.
The couple had fixed their wedding engagement for 22 December at Elder Ahmodu Jonah Omajoji compound, beside Central School, Abejukolo -Ife.
The ‘white wedding’ was scheduled to be held on 23rd December at CEFN, an English church at Abejukolo-Ife.
It was learnt that wedding guests had started trooping into the Abejukolo-Ife town as of Thursday, the 21st of December, only to discover to their surprise that the groom was no more.
The bereaved bride, Praise Enyojo, lamented: “This is not what we planned. You gave up in my hands; I thought my struggle with you on the sick bed would end with praise and testimony as you always told me.
“This is too much for me, I’m speechless.”
However, a family member, James Adamu, said the unexpected death of their brother is a burden too much to bear at this particular time.
“The family was busy putting things in order, then came the sudden illness. We thought it was a mere seizure that would leave him shortly. It was not. It ended up killing him,” Adamu said.
