Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has made the list of recipients of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), one of the Special National Honours Awards 2023.
This was revealed in the list of the recipients of various categories of the awards, published by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, as approved by the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari.
The other categories include, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), Office of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), and the Office of the Order of the Niger (OON).
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed who reacted to the news via a Facebook post, said, “ladies and gentlemen , having displayed unwavering dedication in restoring our state from the clutches of criminals and transforming it into one of the safest regions in Nigeria today, while simultaneously spearheading numerous commendable and impactful initiatives across our land.
A true luminary in nation building whose exceptional leadership has been instrumental in fortifying democratic institutions and upholding the rule of law in Kogi in particular and Nigeria at large. It is with great honor and pride that I introduce to you His Excellency, Yahaya Bello,Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON.
In a related development, music sensations, David Adeleke (Davido), and Tiwa Savage have been listed as recipients of the OON award.
