Gov. Bello Approves Completion of Oguma-Sheria Bridge in Bassa LGA

Governor Yahaya Bello has approved the completion of the long-abandoned Oguma-sheria bridge in Bassa Local Government Area with immediate effect.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Primary Health Care, Hon Alhassan Salisu Adakeke, made the disclosure in Gboloko, during a parley with critical stakeholders of Bassa Local Government Area.

The parley was reportedly witnessed by thousands of members of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and other members of the opposition, decamping to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He lauded Governor Bello for approving the completion of the bridge, which has been abandoned for decades, stressing that, previous administrations, have used the project to campaign without doing anything to cushion the suffering of Bassa People.

While praising what he described as the gigantic achievement of the present administration on behalf of Bassa People in Kogi State, the Adviser, said the Governor’s promised attention for the urgent completion of the bridge, is a welcome development, saying, it will boost the socio- economic activities of Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State and improve their livelihood in the years to come.

The newly appointed Adviser, used the opportunity to appeal for a quick return of the displaced people in Bassa Local Government, to enable them exercise their franchise, “by voting massively for the APC Governorship Candidate, Alh. Usman Ododo.”

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, a former Chairman of Bassa Local Government Area, Hon. Musa Yakubu (Alias Foundation) noted that, they were persuaded to join the APC, because of the excellent attention the present administration has given the local government area since 2016.

The former Chairman emphasized that, the transition from Governor Bello to Alhaji. Usman Ahmed Ododo, the APC gubernatorial candidate for the November 11 Governorship election, is divine.

According to him, decampees wish to be part of the history for the peaceful return of all displaced people and the election of the APC candidate, Alh Usman Ododo to Lugard house.

Prominent personalities who were on ground for the decamping ceremony, include; Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim, the Zonal PDP woman leader (East), Hon Muhammed Umar, a grassroots mobilizer and Mrs. Gloria Ategbe, former supervisor and councilor respectively of Bassa Local Government area.
