Reps Pass Bill for Establishment of Federal Medical Center Isanlu 

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed the bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center in Isanlu, Yagba East Federal constituency, Kogi State, for second reading.

Hon. Abejide, representing Yagba East Federal constituency, led the debate on the bill. He emphasized the need for an act to amend the Federal Medical Centers Establishment Act No. 33, 2022, to provide for the establishment of the Federal Medical Center, Isanlu, and other related matters.

Abejide described the bill as a straightforward piece of legislation that would have a profound impact on the lives of millions of Nigerians, particularly the Yagba people. He noted that the people of Yagba have to travel long distances daily to access medical healthcare, and the establishment of the medical center would alleviate this challenge.

The motion was adopted by a unanimous voice vote when put to vote by the Speaker, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen. The Speaker subsequently referred the bill to the House Committee on Healthcare Services for further legislative action.
